GENERAL INFORMATION SAMBODROME

The Sambadrome is divided into 13 sectors. The value of the tickets of each sector depends on the position and views of the boulevard. The odd-numbered sectors on one side and the other pair. The numbers increase toward the end of the avenue.

All sectors consist of stands, stalls and cabins. The friezes are in front of the stands, taking its queue A, closest to the Sambadrome parade strip. The cabins are located between sectors, and also above the stalls, just behind the D-line, providing a great view of the parade area.

Only the industry stands 9, popularly known as Tourism Sector or noble sector, offers numbered places, all other grandstands are not numbered. The sector 09 has an excellent view. Ticket prices for this sector are higher because it is more organized, and you have your place marked all night, unlike other stands.

Getting to the Sambadrome

You can also arrive by subway, bus or just taking a taxi. Remember that these means of transport will leave at a distance from the Sambadrome will require some time to walk.

Subway
It works in the days of Carnival until 23h on Tuesday, with 10-minute intervals. It’s fast but packed in the days of Carnival. Couples sectors
The best access to even sectors is Praça Onze station. Once outside the station, turn right twice and then move on. For the sectors 10 and 12 take Rua do Carmo Neto and walk down Av. Sa Salvador. You will see the Sambadrome quickly.

Odd sectors
The nearest station is Central. Get off that chart and follow the flow of people, for surely most will be heading to the same place as you. The station this less than one kilometer from the Sambadrome, and along the way you will see floats and the famous Terreirão Samba. Location
The Sambadrome is located in the region known as the cradle of samba. Begins at Avenida Presidente Vargas, near the Praça Quinze and ends at Rua Frei Caneca. The Avenue was named Professor Darcy Ribeiro, considering that it was he who conceived the parades in a fixed structure because the structures were previously assembled for the event. Facilities
There are bars with food and drinks, restrooms in each Sambodromo sector. In addition, all have access, the free area, a space that exists behind the grandstands at the Sambadrome, where with restaurants, ice cream parlors, souvenir shops and more bathrooms.

Security
In today’s show, the Sambadrome is considered the safest place in South America. There is a very high concentration of international celebrities, politicians and members of royal families among the crowd. The Sambadrome is surrounded by huge crates in which none can pass without being searched for commercial and safety reasons.
